At the central weather bureau (CWB), there is a senior forecaster and chief of the weather forecast center Daniel Wu who has been serving for over 30 years.

But he will retire next month due to the heavy criticism the bureau has faced from government and media recently.

Because of lack of knowledge in weather of the Taiwanese, few people can accept that the CWB changes their previous forecasts about typhoon rainfall over two times.

It is a common thing for forecasters to revise their forecasts according to new data.

Everyone widely regard forecast revision as an inaccuracy of weather forecast.

Media should shoulder the blame because of their extremely inappropriate reports.

They transmit that it is natural and right for CWB to give a correct forecast in time without any revisions to the Taiwanese.

When there is a disaster happening such as Morakot typhoon, CWB and weather forecasters will face strong criticism from most Taiwanese.

Daniel Wu is a victim of heavy criticism from the Taiwanese.

He is extermely interested in weather forecast and contributes greatly to the CWB.

When Morakot typhoon came to Taiwan, Daniel Wu was in mourning for his mother.

Great responsibility of him, he hadn’t gone home for four days in order to give accurate forecast to the Taiwanese.

However, Taiwaneseexpect him to take the responsibility for Morakot disaster even if it is absolutely not his fault.

He has already decided to retire next month in despair.

It is a loss for CWB and the Taiwanese not to have an expert in weather like Daniel Wu.
