On the fifth of September in 2009, the 21th Deaflympics Games opened in the new Taipei Municipal Stadium with a spectacular ceremony.
It is the first time fir Taiwan to hold the Deaflympics since the competition started in 1924.
There are more than 4000 athletes who came from 91 countries to take part in the 20 events.
It is Taiwan’s honor to hold this Deaflympics Games.
The movie “Hear me” which is a story about Deaflympics athallete is now at the cinema.
From this movie, I can really feel that deaf should strive their life to achieve the same level as normal persons.
In the movie, Pong was a deaf swimming athlete. She had a younger sister, Yang-Yang, who was a charming and lovable girl.
Pong had to spend all her time doing swimming training in order to get a golden medal in the Deaflympics.
Therefore Yang-Yang had to do a lot of temporary jobs to lead a normal life.
Yang-Yang loved her sister very much, she could sacrifice all her life to support Pong to get a golden medal.
Once, Yang-Yang met an optimistic and sincere boy, Tan.
Yang-Yang was good in dactylology because she had to communicate with her sister.
Tan was also good in dactylology, so as they knew each other, they used dactylology to communicate with each other.
In fact, Yang-Yang and Tan were normal person, they both could speck and hear, but they know they were normal.
Only communicating through the dactylology, they gradually became fond of each other.
Additionally, Pong also strived to make her dream come true.
Although she once got injured before the coming Deaflympics, she never gave up and joined the next Deaflympics again.
Love and Dream are marvelous, you can feel them through your heart even if you can’t speak or hear.
The deaf are the same as normal persons, they can have dreams, and fall in love with someone like normal persons.
We should respect and treat them like we treat everyone else.
